Welcome to China Sampler, the USF School of Art + Art History excursion to Beijing during spring break March 9-17, 2011. (Note: you may need to leave March 8th, early, due to flight schedules. Please be sure to obtain permission from other professors to do this).

The trip is 1300 plus airfare. An information meeting takes place Wednesday, October 26th at noon in FAH Room 290.

If you have any questions and/or suggestions about what would interest you in a trip to China (in one week's duration, this year) -- please post in "comments" below.

The course includes
-Films, lectures and books that will introduce China's history and culture across various historical epochs as well as now

-Travel to Beijing to visit artist studios, galleries and museums as well as the Forbidden City, Great Wall and Summer Palace. You'll eat duck and visit the Chinese opera, an acrobatics show (optional) and the beautiful hutongs that surround the Forbidden City. The course is offered as an Extended Study or in full as a semester-long course.

Please post questions here in anticipation of the information meeting Wednesday, October 26th at 12 noon at FAH 290.
